Mefenamic acid and soda drinks?

Does drinking sodas like Coke with mefenamic acid lessen the effect of the medicine? And how long was the medicine suppose to take effect? I heard once it takes around thirty minutes. I took mefenamic a while ago for my dysmenorrhea but I mindlessly drank Coke just before I took the medicine.
