Help with feedback for a short story- URGENT?

it's a bit melodramatic for my taste I'm afraid. Plus I'm not sure about the comparison between horrendous domestic violence and how servants are treated in the 3rd world. (And I don't think "emaciated" can describe an inanimate object.) But very compelling and quite horrifying.
