Does morality really exist?

Morality does exist. But it is different for every society. Each society develops a set or norms and values to guide them through life and keep the general population under control. Once you give people a set or morals and values, their behavior becomes much more predictable. If you constantly beat into people the idea that killing is really really bad, you won't have people going around murdering others when they get mad. So yes, I would agree with you that morality is really just a tool to keep the masses under control and to let those in power maintain their power. I just took sociology last semester in school and that is the basis of conflict theory, you should check it out just google it.
